Welcome to WriteOnCon! Here are some rules and resources to check out.
These forums are FREE to join and use. You don't have to purchase admission to the WriteOnCon conference to participate.
General Forum Guidelines
Within the WriteOnCon forum, there are subforums (Query Feedback, First 500 Words Feedback, etc.). When you enter these subforums, you can create a post that will then generate a thread. Others will click “reply” to add posts to your thread.
Please update your profile with as much information as you feel comfortable sharing. This is a good way for other writers to get to know you and potentially reach out and connect, but it’s by no means required. If you’re looking to connect with other writers, including your website/Facebook/Twitter in your signature is a great option. These will show up at the bottom of every post you make.
Respect other writers
Please be respectful of other writers at all times. This includes people who are on these forums as well as published authors who are not. We actively encourage discussion and critique, but please direct your critiques at the work, not the author.
We want these forums to be a safe space for all writers, regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc. If a member of one of these groups tells you they are uncomfortable with certain content or language, please do not demand explanations or harass them.
Please also refrain from promoting any services you offer or self-published work.
Please use the reporting function if you feel someone has crossed a line or is making you uncomfortable, and a moderator will step in.
Reporting
We will not tolerate any form of harassment or hate speech on these boards, and there will be a strictly enforced "two strikes, you're out" policy. Please note that there is a difference between honest critique and harassment.
To report a post you feel is inappropriate or offensive, go to the top right corner of that post, click on the triangle next to the gear wheel, then select Report Post. It's very helpful to moderators if you can include a specific reason in your request.
